Today's Forecast Updated Friday at 3:59 PM
Clouds will increase Saturday and precipitation will become possible Saturday night into Sunday as an area of low pressure moves into the region.
Tonight: Mostly Clear, Chilly
Lows: 30s | Wind: Light
Saturday: Mostly Cloudy, Rain Late
Highs: Around 50 | Wind: Light
Sunday: Mix Possible, Colder
Highs: Around 40 | Wind: NE 5-10 m.p.h.
The area of high pressure that has created such a beautiful day is slowly moving away from the area. Skies will remain clear to partly cloudy tonight. Skies will become mostly cloudy tomorrow with highs approaching 50 degrees. And some light rain is possible later tomorrow.
On Sunday, it could get a little interesting around here. A storm system and its attendant cold front will move close to the area on Sunday. Depending on which computer you believe and what the actual temperatures at the surface and aloft will be, parts of our area may see snow on Sunday. The best chances will be at higher elevations north and west of Washington. The metro area will likely see the rain mix with snow at times on Sunday. All precipitation will end by Sunday evening. Another area of high pressure will move in on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
