14th Street Bridge project behind schedule
April 30, 2011 - 08:22 am
The District Department of Transportation says that the project to rebuild the northbound span of the 14th Street Bridge is already behind schedule.
Officials say that replacing the bridge deck will take more work than previously thought. DDOT is also running into problems with work permits.
Bridge crews say that piers that hold up the deck span are in poor condition and need extra work.
Originally, parts of the construction project were due to be completed by the end of 2010.
