Manassas Police arrest two in connection with April 26 assault
Manassas City Police have made two arrests in connection with an April 26 assault and robbery near Weems Elementary School.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Laron Rasheed Thomas and another 16-year-old male in connection with the incident, in which a 34-year-old man was assaulted and shot with a BB gun after they allegedly tried to steal his bicycle.
Police say that the man had gone to a basketball court on his bike outside the school and left the bike on the ground near the court.
Thomas allegedly picked the bike up and began to ride it. When the victim confronted Thomas, police say he shot the victim in the face and torso with the gun while the white male punched him in the face.
The victim was treated and released from an area hospital for minor injuries.
