Gray appoints Dena Reed as interim head of taxi commission

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Dena Reed has been appointed Interim Chairperson of the D.C. Taxicab Commission, the mayor’s office announced Wednesday. Mayor Vincent Gray is searching for a permanent chairperson to replace former Chair Leon Swain, who will not be reappointed.
Ms. Reed has served for the last year and a half as the Taxicab Commission’s General Counsel following more than two decades with the D.C. attorney general’s office, the mayor’s office said.
Ms. Reed, a native Washingtonian, is a graduate of Trinity College and Howard University Law School. She resides in Ward 5.
