A hearing is scheduled Friday in federal court in Alexandria on 19-year-old Gulet Mohamed's lawsuit against Attorney General Eric Holder and other officials.

Mohamed, a U.S. citizen born in Somalia, traveled in 2009 to Yemen and Somalia to stay with family. He then went to Kuwait, where he says he was arrested, questioned by FBI agents and beaten by Kuwaiti interrogators. His efforts to return home were delayed by his apparent placement on the no-fly list.

Mohamed was eventually allowed to fly home, so the government says his lawsuit is now moot. But Mohamed says the underlying issues remain.
