UPDATE (12:44 p.m.): ABC7's Mike Conneen reports that at about 11 a.m., neighbors heard screaming and gunshots. Police say the 54-year-old female victim pretended to be dead after suffering a serious gunshot injury to her arm.

The boyfriend, 42, then shot himself. Officers arrived to find the victim outside, bleeding, and the suspect dead inside the apartment.

Neither the suspect nor the victim has been identified.

UPDATE (12:13 p.m.): Montgomery County Police spokesman Paul Starks says that their preliminary investigation indicates that a boyfriend shot his girlfriend in the arm, then turned the gun on himself.

The girlfriend was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

ORIGINAL POST: Montgomery County Police are on the scene of a shooting in the 400 block of North Summit Ave. in Gaithersburg.

There is no word on how many people were shot in the incident, which occurred at about 11:15 a.m.
