Redskins draft Jarvis Jenkins, Leonard Hankerson
Following a flurry of trades, the Washington Redskins added two players in day two of the NFL draft. With their first pick, the 41st selection overall, the Redskins drafted Jarvis Jenkins, a defensive tackle from Clemson. The 6’4” 310 lineman is expected to play nose tackle in the Redskins 3-4 defense – that’s the same position that Albert Haynesworth refused to play last season.
The Redskins next selected wide receiver Leonard Hankerson from the University of Miami in the third round, the 79th overall pick.
Washington began the day with a pair of second round picks, the 41st and 49th picks overall. After using their 41st pick on Jenkins, the Redskins made three separate trades with the Colts, Bears, and Dolphins in an effort to stockpile draft picks by adding selections in the third, fourth, fifth and seventh rounds.
The NFL draft concludes on Saturday with rounds 4-7.
