6:11 a.m.: Cynne: "Prince William just whispered a compliment to his bride. She's beaming!" Our expert ABC7 Royal Lip Readers (note: Not a real position) think he said, "You look beautiful!"

6:09 a.m.: Cynne: "The bride looks regal in a fabulous diamond tiara. She's entered Westminster Abey with her sister, Pippa Middleton assisting with the train. This is the iconic shot that will be replayed for decades to come."

6:04 a.m.: A hush promptly fell over Westminster Abbey as Kate entered and the ceremony began. Cynne: "29-year-old Kate Middleton has emerged. Sarah Burton designed the dress!"

5:59 a.m.: Cynne: "The bride is on her way. Wearing a lovely white lacy long sleeved gown, tiara and veil."

5:54 a.m.: Another target of heavy betting on the wedding was whether Kate's hair would be up or down. If you took down, you're a winner! Cynne: "This is British fashion at it's best. Hats, uniforms, spring coats...oh my!"

5:51 a.m.: We just caught the slightest of glimpses at Kate Middleton as she enters the car that will take her to Westminster. Lots of lace, it seems, and a giant bouquet of flowers. Also, much like Princess Diana, a large train, that "mustn't get crumpled," wedding observers say.

For some in Washington, the emotion of the moment is overwhelming:

Waterworks. Why am I crying?!?! #rw2011 #royalweddingless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

Twitter is also lighting up with reaction to Kate's dress:

This just proves that any normal girl can have a Fairy Tale. <3 Or have a happy ending #RoyalWedding :)less than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

5:50 a.m.: The Queen of England apparently owns over 5,000 hats. Our question: Where does she keep them all?!?

5:47 a.m.: Maura Judkis is live at the Ritz, and was greeted, as she tweeted, by a harp player and a wedding dress.

ABC7's John Lewis sent us this photo of the watch party:
