Three people hit by car at Temple Hills car wash
UPDATE 3:27 p.m.: A car wash employee was bringing a car out of the wash area to the drying area, when his foot, which was wet, slipped and caused the car to briefly accelerate, striking another vehicle that was being dried, police say.
The employee driving the first car was not injured, but two employees drying the second car plus the owner of the vehicle were injured and were transported to area hospitals.
One employee plus the customer sustained minor injuries. One car wash employee sustained more serious injuries, but was only transported as a "Priority 1" as a precautionary measure and his injuries are not actually life threatening, according to Prince George's County Police spokesperson Cpl. Evan Baxter.
Original story: Three people were injured, including one with life-threatening injuries, when they were hit by a car at a car wash in Temple Hills on Saturday, Prince George's Fire & EMS says.
The incident occurred at about 12:20 p.m. at a car wash at Branch Avenue and Curtis Drive. First responders found three male victims with an array of injures. All were transported to a trauma center.
The two other victims sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. This post will be updated.
