5-year-old boy found with father's body in Md. house
A young boy was found Saturday in a Jessup, Md. house along with the body of a man believed to be his father, police say.
The boy, who police believe to be about five years old, was described as being in good condition.
No one had been living in the house, in the 8700 block of Mary Lane in Jessup, and it appears the man broke a window to gain entry. It is unclear when the two entered the home.
When a woman related to the house's owner came to check on the house around 3:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon, she discovered the body and the boy inside.
Howard County police identified the man as Najib Malik Abdullah, 26, of Jessup. The name of the boy will not be released due to his age.
Detectives believe they are a father and son who were last seen Tuesday leaving a relative's home in Jessup following a domestic incident.
The boy was taken to Howard County General Hospital in good condition.
