68 people in the the District, Maryland and Virginia have been arrested over the past three days in an effort to apprehend felony fugitives, officials say.
The operation, dubbed "Operation Clean Slate," led to the clearing of 94 felony warrants.
"We are making our city safer, by going after wanted felons," said Metro Police Chief Cathy Lanier. "this successful operation should send a message to wanted criminals, that we will find you and put you in jail."
Operation Clean Slate was a joint effort between D.C. Police and the U.S. Marshals Service. They say similar operations will take place throughout the summer.
