SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) - A Silver Spring man is facing charges following an armed standoff with Montgomery County police.
Carlos Alexander Hernandez is due in court Monday afternoon for a bond hearing. The 31-year-old faces charges including attempted first-degree murder and reckless endangerment.
Police responded Saturday night to reports of gunfire and determined that the shots were fired from inside Hernandez's home.
Officers say Hernandez barricaded himself inside with his 8-year-old son and refused to come out.
Two officers who fired their guns during the standoff have been placed on administrative leave, as is standard procedure.
Police say no one was injured.
