Columbia house fire leaves 3 displaced

Three people are displaced after a house fire in Columbia early Friday morning.
Flames broke out around 4 a.m. in the 5700 block of Twelvemonth Court. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire in the basement of a townhome, located at the end of a group of residences. It took less than 30 minutes to knock down the blaze. All the residents were able to escape after smoke detectors sounded. No injuries were reported.
Officials say the home did not have a sprinkler system.
The total damage is estimated between $50,000 and $60,000.
Firefighters from Howard County, Prince Georges, Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties assisted with the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
