D.C. hotel cleared

UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: Authorities have cleared the hotel of any explosive danger. Hotel occupants were allowed back in.
Authorities are investigating a suspicious items at the Hilton Garden Inn in the 1200 block of 1st Street NE.
The hotel had been evacuated.
Authorities said an explosive-sniffing dog has cleared suspicious items but the matter remains under investigation.
