D.C. road closures to hamper traffic throughout weekend
WASHINGTON (AP) — Road races, a festival and a graduation ceremony are combining to create street closures in the District this weekend.
S Street Northeast between 3rd and 4th streets, and 4th and Seaton streets, will be closed Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. because of the Metropolitan Branch 5-K Race.
Several streets in the Congress Heights neighborhood will also be closed throughout the day Saturday because of the annual Congress Heights Day and Festival.
On Sunday, Fourth Street between Madison Drive and Jefferson Drive, SW, will be closed because of the George Washington University's commencement ceremony on the National Mall.
And the annual fundraiser run Sunday morning for the Capitol Hill School will cause a cluster of road closures in Capitol Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods.
