Dead man found in submerged car
A dead man was found inside a car partially submerged in a Harford County creek.
A man, who was walking on Route 165 Tuesday morning, just north of Wheeler School Road noticed tire tracks in the grass leading to a gray Mercedes that was partially underwater. The man called police, who found the dead body inside the car. The car was submerged in about four feet of water.
Maryland State Police identified the deceased as Edward Jackson, 72, of the 5000 block of Brightleaf Court, Baltimore, Maryland. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The cause of death is still being investigated and will be determined pending autopsy results.
A Silver Alert had been issued by the Baltimore County Police for the car early this morning. Jackson was last seen leaving the Veterans Affairs Hospital on Monday at 5:30 a.m.
Route 165 was closed for two hours between Wheeler School Road and Whiteford Road. It has been reopened. The police investigation is ongoing.
