Elijah Byrd, Woodbridge church pastor killed in motorcycle crash

TRIANGLE, Va. (AP) - The pastor of a church in Prince William County has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Triangle.

Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok says 59-year-old Elijah Alexander Byrd of Dale City died shortly after the crash Saturday afternoon on Joplin Road. Byrd was traveling southbound when he lost control of the 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding and struck a tree.

Perok says seed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Byrd was the pastor at the Open Arms Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Woodbridge.
