Fairfax County Board of Supervisors want Mark Center delay
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Tuesday sent a letter to the county's congressional delegation asking them to support a one-year delay in moving thousands of Pentagon workers to the Mark Center in Alexandria.
"We have been urging the federal government to take responsibility and mitigate the traffic gridlock that will occur at the Mark Center since the Pentagon made this decision six years ago. A one year delay, while not perfect, will allow progress on some of the efforts being made to help alleviate the problems that this federal decision will create," Chairman Sharon Bulova said in a statement.
A report from the Pentagon's inspector general stated that the Army used faulty data to estimate the impact that moving thousands of defense workers to the Mark Center.

The workers are expected to transfer to the Alexandria site in September.
