All lanes of Baltimore-Washington Parkway have reopened following a fatal accident in Laurel, U.S. Park Police say.
Just after 3 a.m. Monday a car was traveling northbound on I-295 when it left the roadway and struck a tree, ABC7 reports. A person, believed to be a female, who was inside the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car was found overturned in the median strip, between Route 197 and Route 198. Authorities say another fatal accident happened at the same location on Sunday.
After being closed for several hours, the northbound and southbound lanes reopened around 8:10 a.m.
