FBI: Don't click on purported Bin Laden death links
May 4, 2011 - 02:07 pm
The FBI is warning unsuspecting users to not click on links that claim to be sites containing photos or videos of Osama Bin Laden's recent death.
The agency says that the links could download and install viruses and malware to the user's computer, which could lead to hackers getting their hands on personal information and committing identity theft.
The warning comes after the White House announced that official photos and video of Bin Laden's death would not be released.
Officials urge users who come across malicious websites and links to report them to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.
