Four-year-old struck by car, injuries life-threatening

A four-year-old boy was hit by a car Thursday evening in Springfield, Va. The child was flown to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.
The boy was struck around 6:30 p.m. on a gravel road that leads to a baseball field park. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver reportedly stayed on the scene at Old Keene Mill Rd and Byron Avenue. Fairfax County Police are investigating.
