Ballston gas explosion injures one, displaces more than 100 displaced

One person has been burned and more than 100 people have reportedly been temporarily displaced after a gas explosion in a Ballston apartment building, authorities say.
The explosion happened in the 4300 block of North Carlin Springs Road, about two blocks away from Ballston Common Mall.
Arlington County Fire spokesperson Lt. Gregg Karl says that an elderly victim was airlifted to Washington Hospital Center with significant burn wounds.
As many as 100 other residents of the complex have been displaced as authorities try to determine the source of the explosion.
