WASHINGTON (AP) - More hot weather is expected Tuesday in the Metro region.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Washington and Baltimore areas that will be in effect from noon until 8 p.m.
City fire and rescue officials say 12 people were taken on Monday to hospitals to be treated for heat-related illnesses during the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington. In Baltimore at the NCAA lacrosse national title game, the game-time temperature was 96 degrees and it was even hotter at field level on a sun-scorched afternoon.
Forecasters say temperatures on Tuesday will reach the lower to mid-90s, but the heat index could get up to 105.
