House fire in Rockville displaces family of five
May 29, 2011 - 03:42 pm
A Rockville family of five was displaced by a fire that destroyed their home Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to a call at about 1:15 p.m. and found the single family home on fire in the 700 block of Wilson Avenue, said Assistant Chief Scott Graham, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson.
Arriving units immediately called for a rapid intervention dispatch and a task force alarm due to the hot weather today, Graham said.
A total of 65 firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.
There were no injuries to firefighters or the family, Graham said.
Smoke from this fire could reportedly be seen by drivers on I-270.
