La Plata multi-vehicle crash leaves one dead

A person is dead after the vehicle they were driving struck an SUV and a pickup truck in La Plata, police say.
- A fatal crash in La Plata.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, located near Hawthorne Road and Marshall Corner Road Friday.
It’s unclear if any other drivers or passengers were injured as a result of the crash, but police say a child, who was inside one of the vehicles involved, has been transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
Maryland State Police are investigating.
