Man accidentally gets terrorism task force moving
May 3, 2011 - 07:42 pm
A man caused quite a stir Tuesday when he drove up to a Metro police station. Police initially said he struck a gate, closed numerous roads around the 4th District Station, and called in an explosives team because they feared a threat. The FBI terrorism task force responded as well.
Turns out, all the man wanted to do was say thank you. He had been arrested several years ago and told officers he came to the station to thank police for straightening out his life. ABC7’s Haley Harrison said the car did not hit anything and the scene should be cleared soon.
