Man pleads guilty to road rage shooting
A 24-year-old D.C. man pleaded guilty to shooting a man during a road rage incident in the Third Street Tunnel in 2010.
Albert Greer pleaded guilty to assault with intent to kill while armed with a firearm. He could get up to 180 months in prison and is set to be sentenced on July 15.
Authorities said Greer was in the front passenger seat of a Dodge Charger at about 3 a.m. heading south on I-395 into the Third Street Tunnel in December. The 33-year-old victim of the shooting was also southbound on I-395. He tried to merge into a lane but the driver of Greer’s car wouldn’t let him. The vehicle eventually pulled ahead of the vehicle Greer was riding in.
Greer then pulled out a gun and began firing at the other vehicle, authorities said. The victim was shot twice – once in the thigh and once in the armpit.
