Multi-vehicle crash on Beltway in Silver Spring sends 12 to hospitals

At least 12 people have been injured in a multi- vehicle accident on the Inner Loop of the Beltway near Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews have taken five patients to area hospitals with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Seven other patients were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

The two left lanes of traffic are still moving past the scene.
