The Washington Nationals offense was kept in check Tuesday night, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1. Cole Hamels pitched a complete game, scattering 5 hits and striking out 6 for his 4th win of the season. Livan Hernandez (3-3) took the loss for Washington after allowing 4 runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Jayson Werth was held hitless, 0-3, in his first game in Philadelphia since signing a seven-year, $126 million contract with the Nationals in the offseason.
Washington's lone run came courtesy of Mike Morse's 2nd home run of the season.

Philadelphia shortstop Jimmy Rollins and first baseman Ryan Howard were a combined 4-8, with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
