Nykere Johnson, Felix Antonio Melgar go missing from D.C., Gaithersburg
UPDATE 9:42 p.m.: Felix Antonio Melgar, the missing 10-year-old Gaithersburg boy, was located, police say. He has been reunited with his family.
No word yet on the missing 11-year-old girl.
Original story: Two preteens in the D.C. Metro area have gone missing this weekend. Police in the District and Montgomery County are searching for an 11-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy.
In the District, police are looking for 11-year-old Nykere Johnson, who was last seen Saturday at about 4 p.m. Johnson, an African-American girl, was wearing a white shirt with blue, ripped jeans.
Authorities ask anyone who spots her to call 911.
10-year-old Felix Antonio Melgar was last seen at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday before he went missing from his home in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle in Gaithersburg.
Melgar, a 4'7" Hispanic boy, has brown eyes and black hair. He was last wearing a long-sleeve black and white shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.
Police say he is familiar with public transportation and is known to frequent the Flower Hill area.
