Osama bin Laden dead: Students remember killed peers
May 2, 2011 - 05:18 pm
A group of students and teachers from D.C. died on the plane that struck the Pentagon in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
A photo in the Leckie Elementatry office shows them just before they left: Students and teachers from three District schools and their National Geographic sponsors boarded flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon. Teachers at Leckie remember Hilda Taylor and young Bernard Brown.
Around the school, a memorial garden is a shrine to those who perished. On Monday, sixth graders discussed what happened 10 years ago.
