Man hit by train at Metro Center

Metro is reporting that a man was struck by a train at Metro Center on the Blue line.
A Metro spokesperson said that this incident occurred on the lower level of Metro Center at 12:49 p.m. Witnesses on the platform said a male intentionally placed himself in the path of an oncoming Blue line train, the spokesperson said. The train was traveling in the direction of Largo Town Center.
D.C. Fire and EMS spokesperson Pete Piringer reports the man, who was pinned under a train, has been extricated. The man sustained life-threatening injuries.
