Phylicia Barnes' death ruled a homicide
May 4, 2011 - 05:25 pm
Authorities have determined that Phylicia Barnes, the 16-year-old girl who went missing in December, was killed.
Baltimore’s chief medical examiner stated that Barnes was the victim of a homicide. The medical examiner also released her body to her family.
The Monroe, N.C., native was reported missing Dec. 28 just weeks before her 17th birthday. She had been visiting three older half-siblings over the holidays in Baltimore when she went missing. Her remains were found in April in the Susquehanna River.
Police urged anyone with information on the case to call 1-855-223-0033. Or, they can call the Maryland State Police duty officer at 410-653-4200. Calls may be kept confidential.
