Prince George's County Police investigate death of Henry Lamont Gilbert
Prince George's County Police investigators are looking into what they're calling a justifiable homicide during an armed robbery last week.
Authorities say that 29-year-old Henry Lamont Gilbert of Northwest D.C. attempted to rob the Beijing Café in the 1300 block of Crain Highway on May 18. Gilbert began to assault one of the victims after demanding money when the other victim came to their aid.
Both Gilbert and one of the victims sustained serious injuries during the altercation and the suspect fled on foot. Authorities later found Gilbert suffering from injuries from the altercation. He died five days later.
The two victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Prince George's County Police or Crime Solvers.
