Prince George's Fire investigating two overnight fires
May 12, 2011 - 08:29 am
Two fires that burned overnight, one at a market and another at a house, are under investigation by Prince George's County Fire officials Thursday morning.
The first fire broke out just before 1 a.m. at Big Ben's Market on Larchmont Avenue in Capitol Heights. The fire was knocked out quickly and caused about $35,000 in damage to the two-story building.
About half an hour later, firefighters responded to a house fire in the 6300 block of Gateway Boulevard in District Heights. The home's only occupant was displaced but uninjured.
Fire officials have not ruled out any causes. Each case will be reviewed for similarities.
