Prince William supervisors approve funding to improve deadly road
Prince William County supervisors approved $270,000 in local funds to improve a portion of Logmill Road, the site of several fatal accidents in recent years, The Washington Post reports.
Supervisors appropriated an additional $2.4 million in state and federal funding for work on Logmill Road between Route 15 and Parnell Court in Gainesville. The project will essentially flatten out a hilly portion of the road, the Post writes.
The most recent deadly accident on the road claimed the lives of two teenagers. Kendra Tucker and Savanna Kidane Mouratidis, both 15, of Haymarket, died following an April 20 early-morning crash. A 14-year-old girl, a 17-year-boy and an 18-year-old male were also injured. Seven people have died in accidents on the Logmill Road since 2004.
