Report: Maryland targeting Arizona head coach Sean Miller
UPDATED 3:55 a.m., Sunday: Sean Miller will not be the University of Maryland's new basketball coach, but will stay at the University of Arizona.
After midnight EST, Arizona AD Greg Byrne announced that Miller had agreed to an extension to remain in Tucscon as head coach of the men's basketball team.

Testudo Times speculates on who might be next on the list of potential coaches for the Terps:
9:30 p.m.: Nothing definitive to report yet. But multiple sports outlets, quoting multiple sources reportedly close to Sean Miller and/or the Arizona program, believe he will decide within 24 hours if he will become the Maryland head coach, that is by Sunday night.
And he's leaning toward taking the job, some say.
In addition to his professional reasons to return to the East Coast, Miller is likely to take the Maryland offer for family reasons, some say. Sources say his wife wants to move back East, his sons might want to develop their basketball skills in a more competitive atmosphere than Tucson, and they have family in the D.C. area.
And a source told ESPN.com that Miller has said that Maryland is one of his dream jobs.
Sources also speculate that Miller would be a dominant recruiter in the Washington-Baltimore and New York City hotbeds of basketball talent if he comes to College Park. And that he would love to compete with Duke and North Carolina in the ACC.
UPDATE 4:00 p.m.: ESPN.com's Andy Katz is quoting a "source with direct knowledge of Miller's decision-making process," saying Sean Miller's decision to move to Maryland or not will boil down to whether he would want to move his family again after settling in Arizona only two years ago.
"He's looking at Maryland from a recruiting standpoint of how you can get the flood gates to open up there if you did it the right way and then compete for Final Fours yearly,'' the source with direct knowledge told Katz. "But he also has Arizona at a level now where there isn't as much competition for players [out West], where the Pac-12 now has a major television commitment, where he could stay there for 20 years. So it comes down to what his family wants to do. That's why he could talk to Maryland and not go.''
Original story: Sources close to the search for a new head coach at Maryland say Sean Miller has been contacted by the Maryland Terrapins and he is leaning toward taking the job in College Park, as reported on ABC7 on Friday night.
The move could be announced as early as Monday, sources say. However, Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com says that while Miller is reportedly leaning toward the Terps job, he and Maryland AD Kevin Anderson have not yet met face to face.
Reports say that Miller and Anderson are meeting today in Las Vegas.
Miller has spent the last two seasons as the head coach at the University of Arizona. He led the Wildcats to the Pacific-10 regular season title and the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament last season.
He was named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year in 2010-11.
From 2004-2009, Miller led the Xavier Musketeers to the postseason four times, including runs to the Sweet Sixteen in 2009 and Elite Eight in 2008.
Miller has compiled a 166-70 record in seven years as a head coach between Xavier and Arizona.
On Friday, longtime Maryland head coach Gary Williams announced his retirement after 22 years at the helm of the Terrapins.
Williams led Maryland to the program's only national championship in 2002.
