School bus accident on I-270 injures six
Six people, including two children, have been injured in an accident involving a school bus in the local lanes of I-270 in Rockville on Friday morning, officials say.
Maryland State Police say the accident, which involved a school bus and two cars, happened at about 8:30 a.m. between Shady Grove Road and Montgomery Road.
Montgomery County Fire Capt. Oscar Garcia says that preliminary reports indicate that a car collided with the school bus.
Four people on the Montgomery County school bus, including the driver, an eight and nine-year-old child and an aide, were injured in the crash, officials say. The driver's injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Montgomery County Public Schools spokesperson Dana Tofig says the bus was taking students to The Ivymount School, a special-needs school in Rockville.
The drivers of each car were also taken to Suburban Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
