May 16, 2011 - 09:54 pm
Severe thunderstorms damaged one house in Prince William County on Monday evening and left drivers stranded in a fast-moving flood.
A flash flood warning from the National Weather Service is in effect for Manassas and west and central Prince William County until 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
As much as three inches of rain feel and winds snapped trees, fire officials said.
Lightning struck a house on River Run Drive off Davis Ford Road about 7:30 p.m., causing minor damage but injuring no one. Two cars were stranded by high waters flooding Lucasville Road.
Rain is expected to continue Tuesday. The National Weather Service said showers and storms Tuesday and Wednesday could lead to flash flooding and strong thunderstorms with damaging winds.
