May 9, 2011 - 09:01 am
A fire completely destroyed a two-story home in Silver Spring and caused minor damage to two neighboring homes, fire officials say.
Flames broke out around 8:30 a.m. Monday in the 12300 block of Charles Road.
About 65 firefighters responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire on all sides of the home. They worked to extinguish the blaze from outside. The fire was put out in about 25 minutes.
Seven adults that were inside the home escaped unharmed. No other injuries were reported.
Montgomery County’s Fire and Explosive team will investigate the origin and cause of the blaze.
