Traffic patterns change on 14th St. Bridge, 17th Street
May 12, 2011 - 06:15 am
Road construction in the District is causing changes to the traffic pattern on two major D.C. Arteries.
The configuration on the 14th Street Bridge has once again changed. There are now two lanes each to the left and right of the construction barriers on the inbound span.
There is also a new pattern on 17th Street between Constitution and Independence Avenues.
The two southbound lanes on 17th Street will now carry one lane of traffic in each direction for two months while the northbound lanes are shut down. A levee is being built in the area to protect it from flooding.
ABC7's Julie Parker says that at about 11:30 a.m., northbound I-395 near the bridge project was a "parking lot."
