Two girls struck by car in SE

Authorities say two young girls were struck by a car in Southeast D.C. Wednesday evening at thee intersection of South Capitol Street and Atlantic Street.
Police say the striking vehicle stayed on the scene. The car was reportedly traveling at a slow speed at the time. Police say the girls were conscious and breathing when emergency medical personnel arrived.
Fire officials say the girls were transported with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police say they girls are said to be between the ages of 3 and 6.
