Upper Marlboro shooting kills 1

A man is dead after a shooting in the 8500 block of Grandhaven Avenue in Upper Marlboro late Sunday night.

Police responded to the scene around 11:20 p.m. and found a male suffering from trauma to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police source tells ABC7's Julie Parker that the victim was a 36-year-old man, shot in front of his townhouse. It appears the victim was targeted and that there was a struggle before the shooting.

A neighbor heard shots and called police.

Police are looking for a silver Mazda Protégé with a spoiler that fled the scene.
