FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A volunteer firefighter has been charged with attempted arson after allegedly trying to set fire to the Maryland home of a woman he says was ignoring him.
Frederick police arrested 43-year-old John Christopher Woods of Middletown on Thursday morning. Woods was arrested after an officer saw him trying to add fuel to a fire in a gas grill placed against the side of the home of the woman's parents, where she was staying.
Woods later told police he was in love with the woman but she was not returning his calls. His bail was set at $4,000 during a Friday hearing.
