WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Nationals are gearing up for the 2011 MLB draft, but for the first time in several years the team won't be picking first overall.
The first round of the draft begins Monday evening. The Nationals have picks number six and 23. In the 2009 and 2010 drafts the Nationals had the number one picks. In 2009 the team used the No. 1 pick to draft right-hander Stephen Strasburg. In 2010 the team chose Bryce Harper.
Picking first in the 2011 draft are the Pittsburgh Pirates.
