8 Montgomery County high schools ranked among top 500 in nation
Eight high schools in Montgomery County ranked among the top 500 in the nation, according to a report released by Newsweek.
The top scoring schools in the county, include Thomas S. Wooten and Richard Montgomery schools in Rockville, Walt Whitman, Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Walter Johnson schools in Bethesda, Poolesville High in Poolesville, Winston Churchill school in Potomac, and Sherwood High in Sandy Spring.
The rankings released online Monday are based on a new measuring system created by Newsweek to rate the success of a high school in “turning out college-ready (and life-ready) students.”
