ABC7 wins 11 Associated Press awards
ABC7 has won 11 Associated Press awards for the Chesapeake region, including an award for outstanding news operation in the Washington area and outstanding newscast.
ABC7 also took home awards for best coverage of a continuing story for its 2010 StormWatch snow coverage.
“We’re extremely proud of all the efforts our employees have made during an extremely difficult news coverage year,” said Bill Lord, station manager for ABC7/WJLA.
ABC7 also was awarded for outstanding public affairs and outstanding spot news for its coverage of the Discovery Channel hostage taking.
ABC7’s news partners at WTOP also won 14 awards, including outstanding radio news operation.
