Affidavit: Jorge Landeros' DNA linked to Sue Marcum murder
WASHINGTON (AP) - An FBI affidavit says DNA found on a weapon suspected in the killing of an American University professor connects the man suspected in the case.
The Washington Post reports that the affidavit was filed this month in federal court as part of a complaint charging 41-year-old Jorge Landeros with unlawful flight. It also offers a possible motive in Sue Marcum's death, alleging that authorities have linked a possible dispute over money between Landeros and Marcum.
Marcum was found dead last October in her Bethesda home. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Landeros, who is reported to be in Mexico.
The affidavit does not specify what kind of weapon police think was used in the crime. An attorney for Landeros declined to comment to the newspaper on the affidavit.
