A D.C. man was sentenced to 47 years in prison Wednesday for the murder of a homeless man in 2003.
Alfred Evans, 28, was convicted in April of the murder of 35-year-old Reginald Brighthart on April 7, 2003.
Evans, who goes by the nickname "Stink," joined in attacking Brighthart with another man, Frank Johnson, at an apartment in the 2800 block of Robinson Place SE.
They then chased the victim into an abandoned apartment building, where they forced him to put his head in a toilet and beg for his children. They then shot him to death.
Johnson received a 48 year sentence for his role in the crime.
