ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Arlington County is looking to dramatically expand its bikesharing program.

The county is holding a public meeting Monday evening to seek suggestions on where to locate up to 30 new bikesharing stations planned for the next year. Most of the kiosks are planned for the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, where the bicycles could be used in conjunction with Metrorail.

Arlington already has about a dozen locations in Capital Bikeshare, which is a joint partnership between the county of the District of Columbia's transportation department and has more than 13,000 members.

People pay $5 for a 24-hour membership which can be purchased directly at kiosks or $75 for an annual membership. Additional fees are charged for rentals longer than 30 minutes.

Maryland is also considering joining Capital Bikeshare.
